• shh!!

  this past saturday, i met up with my old drinking buddy, her husband and her little sister. it was to celebrate lil sis’ birthday. the birthday girl, who at the age of 26 has never had a boyfriend or much dating experience. there was a guy there that she liked and she was a little bummed that he wasn’t “getting the hint.” i advised her that if she wants to get his attention, just lean in like you’re going to kiss him, but only do it 3/4 of the way, and he WILL come the other 1/4 of the way (assuming he’s interested). and if he’s not, no harm no foul. her and her girlfriends didn’t believe me. i told them, you can see that the guy is shy, probably doesn’t have a lot of dating experience either, and being a friend, he’s probably scared to cross that line. later on that night she was making out with the dude, and she thanked me for the advice and proclaimed “your 3/4 thing does work!” what she didn’t know was, i told the guy that she was interested and if he was interested back, he needs to do something. i think i’m going to keep this little tidbit to myself and let her keep her new found confidence
