Impromptu dinner with an old friend. I’m generally pretty dubious of restaurants inside hotels, Luce, has had a Michelin star every year for the last 5, so decided to give it a go.
I’ve had this bottle of Silver Oak for 13 years now. Never had a great reason to crack it open, but it’s widely believed that it has reached it’s peak, and will start heading downhill, so that’s reason enough for me. I forget how great the 97′s were.

There were many great appetizers on the menu, but being Chinese, I couldn’t pass on the Abalone and Scallops. First time I had abalone outside of an Asian restaurant.

Lamb loin for the main course, medium rare…more towards the rare side, with a crispy belly to compliment.

Probably the best hotel restaurant I’ve been to.
